Oil derived products - Brief

Guests see four large cases, each filled with a variety of petrochemical products. A touch screen in front of each case can be moved by sliding it left and right. Guests slide the touchscreen to line it up with different objects, then press the ‘scan’ button. An airport scanner type effect shows the object on screen and then gives information about the types of petrochemicals present in the object.

Challenges

Guests must seamlessly slide the touchscreen left and right to align it with different objects, requiring a natural and easy-to-understand interaction, crucial for a positive user experience. The UI/UX design must ensure a smooth transition and convey petrochemical information effectively without causing confusion or delays. Presenting information in an easily digestible format post-scan is key, striking a balance between depth and clarity to facilitate quick understanding without overwhelming users. The UI/UX design should be inclusive and accommodate varying levels of user expertise.

My involvement

From the initial concept to the final implementation, my role involved crafting an engaging and accessible user experience, addressing challenges in navigation, information presentation, and inclusivity.
