UI/UX of a hospital website
Brief
Redesign the user experience and user interface of the website of a prominent Greek hospital. The goal is to create a modern, intuitive platform that provides easy access to essential information, such as services offered, appointment scheduling, and medical resources. The new design should prioritize clarity, accessibility, and responsiveness across various devices to ensure seamless navigation for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals alike.

Challenges
Balancing the needs of patients, caregivers, medical professionals, and administrative staff required careful information architecture and content prioritization.
My involvement
I collaborated closely with stakeholders to understand their objectives and translated them into intuitive interface layouts and engaging user experiences. Conducting user testing and gathering feedback iteratively, I refined designs to optimize usability and accessibility. Through wireframing, prototyping, and visual design, I aimed to create a cohesive digital environment that fosters trust, efficiency, and convenience for all users interacting with the hospital's online platform.
Information Architecture
After reviewing the previous website and engaging in discussions with key stakeholders, I developed a comprehensive sitemap. This process was not only effective but also facilitated crucial decision-making among the stakeholders. The old website was cluttered with an excessive number of pages that lacked meaningful content, creating a chaotic user experience.
To streamline navigation, I organized the homepage as the central hub for the hospital's three core pillars: Diagnostic Services, Pathology, and Surgery. Additionally, I included sections for Hospital News and an introduction to our Medical Staff. Subsequently, I established a clear structure for primary and secondary navigation to enhance usability and improve overall visitor engagement.
Flow Map
To create a flow map, I began by mapping out the primary tasks and journeys users would need, like finding doctors, booking appointments, and locating departments. I organized these into clear, intuitive pathways, minimizing clicks for essential actions such as appointment scheduling and information access. Additionally, I incorporated visual cues and accessible language to guide a diverse range of users, including patients and staff, smoothly through the site.
UI Design
I designed the hospital website's UI to be clean and uncluttered, using a modern aesthetic that balances professional tones with warm, welcoming colors. Key actions like scheduling appointments and finding doctors are highlighted with prominent buttons and simplified navigation, making them easy to access. Through visual hierarchy and intuitive icons, I ensured a seamless experience for all types of visitors.
